Mercedes-Benz Technician or Apprentice

Department: Service   Job Type: Full-Time

Hours: M-F 8am – 6pm    Occasional Saturday per month 8am-1pm 

Job Description: Mercedes-Benz of Columbus is looking for a qualified individual for a Technician or Technician Apprentice position. This individual will work under the supervision of Certified Mercedes-Benz Technicians and learn how to become a successful technician in the automotive industry. 

The ideal candidate will: 

  • Have some automotive mechanical experience. 
  • Have the ability to mount and balance tires, as well as perform general maintenance services on vehicles. 
  • Have a positive attitude. 
  • Be detail oriented. 
  • Be able to communicate with customers in a professional manner.  
  • Be able to pass drug screen, and background check. 

Service BDC

Department: Service
The Service BDC / Service Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for service customers, delivering a luxury-level experience while supporting the service department through appointment management, communication, and administrative coordination.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Greet all service customers promptly, professionally, and courteously in person and by phone
  • Answer incoming calls and route them appropriately to service advisors, managers, or departments
  • Schedule service appointments accurately using the dealership’s scheduling and DMS systems
  • Confirm upcoming service appointments via phone, text, or email
  • Collect and verify customer and vehicle information prior to service visits
  • Assist with check-in flow by notifying service advisors of customer arrivals
  • Handle basic customer inquiries regarding service hours, maintenance intervals, and recall information
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming service reception area
  • Support outbound customer communication including follow-ups, reminders, and campaign calls
  • Log customer interactions and notes accurately in CRM/DMS systems
  • Assist with cashiering, repair order routing, or document handling as needed
  • Escalate customer concerns or complaints to appropriate service leadership
  • Maintain confidentiality of customer and dealership information
  • Uphold Mercedes-Benz brand standards and MBOC customer experience expectations

Service Advisor

The Service Advisor serves as the primary point of contact between customers and the service
department. This role is responsible for delivering an exceptional customer experience while ensuring
efficient workflow, accurate documentation, and clear communication between customers, technicians,
and management.
Primary Responsibilities
• Greet customers promptly and professionally upon arrival.
• Listen to customer concerns and accurately document vehicle issues.
• Create detailed and accurate repair orders in the dealer management system (DMS).
• Perform vehicle walk-arounds and note existing damage or concerns.
• Explain recommended maintenance and repairs clearly and confidently.
• Obtain customer authorization for repairs and additional work.
• Provide accurate estimates, timelines, and updates throughout the service process.
• Coordinate with technicians to ensure proper diagnosis and repair completion.
• Monitor repair progress and proactively communicate delays or changes.
• Ensure all warranty and customer-pay documentation is complete and accurate.
• Review completed repairs with customers and explain services performed.
• Handle customer questions, concerns, and complaints with professionalism.
• Promote manufacturer-recommended services and dealership offerings.
• Maintain high CSI (Customer Satisfaction Index) standards.
• Follow up with customers post-service when required.

Department: Parts   Job Type: Full-Time

Job Description: Mercedes-Benz of Columbus is seeking a knowledgeable, customer-focused Parts Advisor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting customers and technicians in identifying, sourcing, and purchasing the correct parts and accessories. A successful Parts Advisor is organized, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced automotive environment.

Job Duties:

  • Greet retail and wholesale customers professionally, in person and over the phone.
  • Assist customers and technicians in identifying and ordering the correct parts using electronic catalogs and inventory systems.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Mercedes-Benz parts, accessories, and technical bulletins.
  • Process parts orders, returns, and exchanges accurately and efficiently.
  • Communicate parts availability, pricing, and delivery times clearly.
  • Manage inventory levels, perform regular stock checks, and support reordering processes.
  • Coordinate with service and sales departments to ensure timely and accurate parts delivery.
  • Ensure work areas are clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
  • Provide outstanding customer service and uphold the high standards of the Mercedes-Benz brand.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required); post-secondary or technical education (preferred).
  • Previous experience in an automotive dealership parts department preferred; luxury brand experience a plus.
  • Familiarity with automotive parts catalogs, DMS systems (ie. Dealertrack), and OEM parts portals.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
